Giddy-up fellow trainers and anyone who might be here by accident. The dapper Ponyta is galloping in the Year of the Horse as the official Gem Pack Vol 4 mascot. In a bizarre twist of fate, the stars have aligned, and would you believe that the Chinese year 2026 is also the year of the horse – and a fire horse no less!

It’s almost like this was all carefully planned out. We’re so glad people smarter than us are in charge of these things. If there was ever a time to get lucky chasing cards it’s right now with this pack.

But enough with the chit chat.

The Simplified Chinese Pokémon Gem Pack Vol 4 will release in Mainland China on 6 February 2026.

Gem Pack Vol 4 Booster Pack Design

Unlike earlier Simplified Chinese sets, Gem Pack series only releases one type of booster box (4 cards per pack). No slim or jumbo boxes are available.

Each pack contains 3× ● or ◆ cards, plus 1 guaranteed ★, ★★, or ★★★ card. Translation: you’re always going to get something worth showing off from this set. 😉

Collector’s Tip: In previous Gem Series boxes, you were guaranteed one “3-star” rarity per box.

Gem Pack Vol 4 Revealed Cards

All previous Gem Pack Vol sets had a total of 4-5 exclusive cards for each set. So far, only ONE exclusive card has been revealed for the set.

Ponyta illustrated by MINAMINAMI Take

Collector’s Tip: This will be the first Ponyta illustration rare.

MINAMINAMI Take is the official illustrator of the Ponyta. You may recognise the style from their previous illustrations such as the Charmander and Detective Pikachu cards. This is very exciting as MINAMINAMI Take’s subject art is expressive and character focused with clean, detailed execution. One element that shines through (LOL) is the thoughtful use of light, atmosphere, and adaptability across different Pokémon subjects (in particular the Charmander artwork). This makes the cards feel playful, polished, and unique.

Nine other illustrations have also been revealed. According to the booster pack hit rate (see below), there will be a total of 28 “Pokémon Illustration Cards.” This will be the largest showcase of Pokémon in the Gem Pack series up to date.
