These cards stand out because they’re printed in Japan with high-quality standards. For example, rare ones have a special Pokémon logo stamp for authenticity. Gem Pack Vol 4 continues the series’ tradition of exclusive Simplified Chinese Pokémon cards, with Ponyta as the official Year of the Horse mascot – a fire horse zodiac tie-in for 2026. Illustrated by MINAMINAMI Take, this is the first Ponyta illustration rare in the line, featuring expressive character work, thoughtful lighting, and detailed atmosphere that’s on par with their past Charmander and Detective Pikachu pieces. So far, one exclusive AR card is revealed, plus nine other illustrations teased – projecting up to 28 Pokémon illustration cards total, the biggest in any Gem Pack yet. For example, each pack guarantees 3 common/uncommon plus 1 higher rarity card, and previous volumes often had at least one 3-star per box.
